SMALL GROUPS OF 7 PERSONS.
TREKKING IN THE COLCA CANYON 3 Days- 2 Nights
First Day: We will start our journey at 03.30 am, and we will drive to the National Reserve of Salinas and aguada Blanca, then we will get to the highest point at 4,910m, Patapampa viewpoint, we will have a panoramic view of the mountains around. Then we will arrive to Chivay Village at 07.00hrs, then we will take breakfast, after that we will drive to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint to see the fly of the Cóndors and to admire the deepth of the Canyon. We will stop for around half an hour. After this stop we will drive to Pampas San Miguel from wich point we will start our trekk, going downwards to the Colca River for about 3 hours. Then we will arrive to San Juan de Chuccho Village, where we will take lunch with a local family. We will continue to walk 3-4 hours. approx. To the Village of Tapay. We will dinner and overnight in a Family house.
Second Day: We will get up early and take our breakfast with the family in this village of Tapay, we will undertake the trek heading towards the Villages of Cosñirwa and Malata, traditional villages settled in the slopes of the Colca Canyon, Along the way we will observe Cultuvated terraces (a method of growing crops on sides of hills), locals dressed with typical customs of the area and transporting their goods on food or on donkeys!
Lunch with a local family, then we will descend to the Oasis of “Sangalle”, a small Oasis at the bottom of the Canyon, where we spend the night, this journey takes about 5hrs . approx. We will spend the night in basic bungalows in Sangalle, these bungalows have basic services. We will enjoy a good and deserved bath in the hot springs (26°C), having an excellent view of the sourroundings with a friendly atmosphere and in contact with nature.
Third Day: We will start the hike at 5.00am. all the way up to Cabanaconde Village. Then we will return to Chivay, stopping along the way in different viewpoints to admire the ancient terraces in the Colca Valley, visiting also Maca Village. Before lunch we will enjoy the hot springs facing the Colca River (35°C).
After lunch we will return to Arequipa City (3hrs) stopping at the highest point Patapampa (4,910m) to have a panoramic view of different mountains and volcanoes like Ampato, Sabancaya, Hualca Hualca and others. Or if you prefer we may transfer you to Puno City (6hrs) with an additional cost.
